Medium jumbo frets, dot inlays, 12" radius and 1-11/16" string nut are featured on this fingerboard. Neck on this model is made of mahogany and it sports a 1960s slim taper contour in the back.It`s topped with a 22-fret fingerboard made of rosewood. Three-way toggle switch is used for pickups selection. Master volume, master tone and a volume knob for each pickup comprise the controls unit. P-90T is in the bridge and P-90R is in the neck position. Pickups installed on this Wildkat are a pair of active P-90 single coils. Bridge section is, like the rest of the hardware, plated in nickel. Behind the Bigsby, Epiphone installs a trapezoid tailpiece with company logo on it. Bridge section is a complex one, as it features a tune-o-matic bridge in the front and Bigsby vibrato in the back. Pickguard is omitted from the specs list on this one in favor of the "f" holes. Top panel is carved with a pair of "f" holes. Body is semi-hollow, the same as on regular Wildkats, and made of mahogany back and laminated maple top. As all models in this series, Wildkat Black Royale is painted in black and bound in silver sparkle binding around the body and neck. Les Paul, ES-339, Wildkat, Riviera Custom, Dot and Emperor regular series models are chosen and given Black Royale treatment. This line includes six models from across the electric guitar catalog and each represents a different series and model. Wildkat Black Royale is a model from the newly established Black Royale series by Epiphone.
